Biographical notes:


Treble in St Peter's Cathedral Choir, Adelaide, SA. Later learnt singing from Lewis Dawe & sang in the Adelaide Harmony Choir. Also played the piano & the pipe organ.
World War II service: Enlisted in the Australian Army at Woodside SA on 15 Nov 1939. Served in North Africa, Palestine and New Guinea. Discharged from the 2/10 Australian Infantry Battalion on 12 Dec 1945 with the rank of sergeant.
Design Draughtsman in the Electricity Trust of SA (ETSA) where he laid out many SA sub-stations always including screens of trees where possible.
Keen gardener & helper at the Waite Arboretum. Keen collector of books. After retirement he began a 'Schools in Need' program, collecting & despatching school books to 3rd world countries, particularly in the South Pacific. For this he was awarded the OAM in 1993.
