The 1861 census shows him as a visitor at the home of Joseph Bartley, a victualler of 159 Vauxhall Road, Duddeston and Nechells, Birmingham. Also with him was his 2 year old daughter Ursula but not his wife and other 2 children. The relationship with the Bartley family is unknown.

The probate record reads:
Jennings George. Effects under £300. 9 February. The Will of George Jennings late of 39 Offord-road Barnsbury in the County of Middlesex Railway Clerk who died 2 January 1872 at Harbourne in the county of Stafford was proved at the Principal Registry by Mary Jennings of 39 Offord-road Widow the Relict the sole Executrix.
