Migrated to South Australia in the Lady Bute ex Greenock, arriving in Port Adelaide on 18 Jun 1839. Owned Highland Valley in the Mt Lofty Ranges & Nalpa on Lake Alexandrina.
The house at Urrbrae was built by Robert Forsyth Macgeorge in the mid-1840s. It was leased to Edward for 10 years from the mid-1850s. The single-storeyed house was demolished in 1891 by Peter Waite who built the present 2-storey mansion.
