Transcript of a love letter

Dear Alice
If you will not be offended at my calling you so,
I have long wished to tell you that I loved you; but the
opportunity has never come in my way. I feel I cannot
restrain my feelings any longer and therefore employ the
more feeble medium of a letter for their communication.
If you should feel the same feelings towards me,
will you let me know as soon as you can.
Yours Very Sincerely
W.H.Pope
Miss A. Jennings
